Who should take the PALS class?

CPR Lifeline is an American Heart Association (AHA) Training Cite providing fully AHA certified Pediatric Advanced Life Support, PALS classes.  The PALS class is intended for healthcare providers, medical professionals, and First Responders looking for specialized training in managing complex, life threatening, medical emergencies involving children and infants in the hospital and pre-hospital setting.  Pediatric emergencies demand specialized expertise, as children and infants require different approaches to care than adults. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) training prepares providers to assess and manage critically ill or injured children, with an emphasis on recognizing and treating respiratory distress, shock, and cardiac arrest.

What does the PALS course teach?

What is the AHA Heartcode Blended Learning program?

HeartCode is the online component of the American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS blended learning programs designed to prepare students for hands-on practice and skills testing. The system uses an adaptive, personalized algorithm that guides each learner along the most efficient path to mastering the material.

Learners progress through a continuously adjusting pathway shaped by their own performance and their self-reported confidence levels in response to probing questions. Course material is delivered through self-directed modules, interactive questions, and Cognitive Assessment Activities (CAAs).

After completing the online portion, students demonstrate their skills using a HeartCode-compatible manikin, Voice Assisted Manikin (VAM), that provides real-time audio and visual feedback. To earn an official American Heart Association (AHA) BLS, ACLS, or PALS Provider eCard, which is valid for two years, students must successfully complete both the online course and the hands-on skills session.

What is the AHA Online HeartCode Blended Learning ACLS Class?

HeartCode PALS provides advanced pediatric life support training through an adaptive, personalized learning platform. The system tailors each student’s path by continuously adjusting to their performance and self-reported confidence, ensuring an efficient and customized learning experience that will typically last about 2 to 3 hours.

After completing the online course, students attend a structured 30 minute hands-on session focused on skill application at one of our local offices. This session includes guided practice, team dynamics training, megacode scenarios, debriefings, and final skills testing. Using a HeartCode-compatible Voice Assisted Manikin (VAM), students receive real-time audio and visual feedback during the 30-minute skills evaluation.
